remove existing wall and move 3 ft back to create space

i have taken the plaster off existing wall and am going to put new wall frame up tomorrow 3ft away from existing wall wich will act as my temporey support aswell only it will stay up for new wall to go up once ive tackled the rest of the existing wall alls i need to know is how do i know if i need to put a beam in wear ive took the wall out the wall itself is only 2by4 with plasterbourd and a skim no insulation atall with a doorway and its 10ft wide all comments welcome cheers :lol:

Hi
The most important question is 'What is above the stud wall that you are taking out and are there any joists etc joined or supported upon it?'

A stud wall can be a structural wall. Moving it any distance may alter the loading above. My advice is to take further advice from someone who can advise you professionally.
